thTechnology sometimes kills itself off in a way that would have made Darwin proud. A generation ago, if you wanted to listen to high-quality music, you bought a 100-watt stereo receiver, a new-fangled CD player and an expensive pair of speakers. Today, all you need are earbuds and an iPhone.
